About Me and CAS

Welcome to my CAS blog!

I am Swedish and Canadian but have lived abroad for most of my life in countries such as Switzerland, Singapore and the Philippines. Currently I am living in Thailand and am an IB student at the Regent's School Pattaya.

How am I an IB learner?

I consider myself to be an inquirer as I often show independence in learning. I have a natural curiosity to research around topics which are of interest to me.

Before commencing various activities I like to gain some background information on what it is I will be doing or working with. This skill has made me more knowledgeable

CAS has taught me to undertake new challenges. These unfamiliar situations have forced me to make reasoned, ethical decisions and thus I believe myself to be a thinker.

Having lived abroad for most of my life I have often had to overcome language barriers.Additionally, I like to take on positions of leadership and so have experience in expressing my ideas effectively to a larger group of people. This has definitely helped me to become more of an effective communicator

As I attend an international school I mix with people from various cultures on a day to day basis. I thus feel I am open-minded as I often find myself in the position of listening to and evaluating different people's points of view.

Through participating in various service projects such as the Koh Phi Phi Tsunami Relief service project, I have been able to interact with and teach English to younger kids which has made me more of a caring person.

If you read through my CAS blog you will quickly realize that I am very much a risk-taker as I often take on new projects and challenges.

Through acting as a risk-taker, I have made certain mistakes and errors through my work. By taking responsibility for these actions however, I have learnt to become more principled

Through juggling my extra curricular activities with my basketball and my studies I have learned to become more balanced

The CAS programme has definitely taught me to become more reflective as I've constantly identifying my strengths and weaknesses of various activities I have partaken in.
